🔔 IMPORTANT PANTO NEWS 🔔

It's with a heavy heart that we must announce that this year’s production of Peter Pan – set to star Mark Little and Philip Green – is the latest victim of the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic. 😢

Middlesbrough Theatre is not alone - to date 65 pantos across the country have been cancelled or postponed and it is estimated that the cost of losing pantomimes nationally could top £90 million.

We have been working tirelessly with our co-producers Extravaganza Productions to find a way of bringing panto to Middlesbrough this year, even though social distancing measures reduce our seating capacity to less than a third.

However, the current rise in the infection rate and the risks it brings with it makes it impossible for us to plan with any confidence and we have therefore – with a heavy heart – decided to postpone the production to 2021.

We are delighted that the cast – including Mark and Philip – have agreed to join us again next year and we are looking at bringing some alternative entertainment to the theatre for audiences to enjoy this Christmas.

We are grateful to Extravaganza Productions, our wonderful cast, loyal audiences and Middlesbrough Council for the continued support at this unprecedented time.

Peter Pan will be back next year bigger, brighter and better than ever and we can’t wait!

Ticket holders for Peter Pan will be automatically refunded and are asked not to call the box office at what will be a very busy time for them.

Thank you again for your ongoing support.

DICK WHITTINGTON PANTOMIME POSTPONEMENT AND RESCHEDULING ANNOUNCEMENT:

Pantomime is a season for loved ones and families to come together and The Plaza and Extravaganza Productions who have staged our family pantomimes since our venue was saved in 2000 have delighted in being part of your festive celebrations

After much discussion due to the situation we all find ourselves in, the very sad decision has been taken that this year’s pantomime DICK WHITTINGTON will be Postponed from 2020 and will be rescheduled to take place from Friday 3rd December 2021 to Sunday 9th January 2022.

Brian Capron and Bradley Thompson have confirmed that they will return in 2021 to star in what promises to be another magnificent Plaza pantomime and all tickets and reservations for Dick Whittington will be transferred to equivalent dates in the new schedule.

Whilst The Plaza is closed the ticketing team at Quay Tickets who are looking after our Box Office service will commence contacting all ticket holders regards their individual booking options and requirements and should you have any queries please do not hesitate to email the team at info@quaytickets.com however as you can imagine it will be a busy task for them so your patience whilst they contact everyone will be very much appreciated.

Finally, from our Plaza Panto Family to yours…we thank you for your continued support and if you are able to retain your tickets for our new dates in 2021/22 this really will be a wonderful way to continue your support for your local family entertainment venue.
